Giraffes are sanctuary animals. They are unlocked at reputation level 3.
Like all other sanctuary animals, players can only have two of them.
Appearance
Giraffes have two different appearances: beige and yellow.
When players tap on the yellow giraffe, its legs start to tremble for a short period. When players tap on the beige giraffe, it plops down on the ground, spread-eagle fashion and blushes before it gets up.
When players tap on the beige giraffe calf, it bats its eyelashes and watches a blue butterfly that flits around it and lands on its tail. It flicks its tail and the butterfly flies off. When players tap on the yellow giraffe calf, it wags its ears and strikes a playful pose.
Unlocking giraffes
Unlike other animals, giraffes cannot be bought. Players must unlock them by finding puzzle pieces (which are collected in a log book). 36 pieces are required for each animal.
Once players have obtained the first giraffe, the puzzle for the second giraffe is unlocked. After both adult giraffes have been added to the sanctuary, the puzzle for one of the calves is unlocked.
Players get the first sanctuary animal for free once the sanctuary is opened. The animal is chosen at random and can be an elephant, hippo or giraffe.
Placing giraffes
Players must pick up a giraffe house to be able to place the animal in the sanctuary. The house is free and can be obtained from the Shop. Shop.
When the second puzzle is completed, players are asked to upgrade the house, which does not cost anything. The same happens when players complete the calf puzzle. When the house is big enough to welcome a new animal, it is delivered in a crate, "airlifted" into the sanctuary by balloons.
Feeding giraffes
Giraffes are fed with wheat bundles. Once giraffes have eaten they roam the sanctuary for ten hours and finally fall asleep. Players can immediately wake them up to receive 25 
per animal. Giraffes stay asleep otherwise.
Giraffes which have been woken up but are not fed for a long while cannot fall asleep and wander around looking sleepy and tired.

Each giraffe unlocks some decorations in the shop as specified below:
With each animal players are given the first pair of decorations for free.
