Greg is a non-player character (NPC) who starts out as the player's first friend and is also a regular visitor. Greg is unlocked at level 5.
From level 25 onwards, Greg can offer his services as a lumberjack.
Despite him being the player's friend, he never needs any help. However, he occasionally buys items from the player's own Roadside shop when they have remained unsold for quite a while.
Greg's farm
Greg's farm showcases every production building, animal, decoration and game feature available in this area although none of the machines are working. The farm changes in appearance when new features are added or during seasonal events.

Greg sells six different types of items in his shop. The items reset and new items appear every 24 hours at 12:00 AM GMT (8:00 PM EST during Daylight Saving Time, 7:00 PM EST otherwise). All the items he sells are ones the player has unlocked and are always sold at their default prices - making them cheaper.
Items for sale from his shop generally include:
- Crops
- Supplies
- Dairy items
- Sugar Mill items
- Sauce Maker items
Greg's town
Greg's town features every service building and decoration available in this area. Players can also pick up waiting town visitors using their personal train.
Greg's services
From experience level 25 onwards, Greg can sometimes offer players his services as a lumberjack to remove their dead trees and bushes. The offer only triggers if a farm has 25 or more dead plants.
Greg can cut down a maximum of 20 dead plants. He targets dead nectar bushes first then he moves on to other types of trees and bushes in a random fashion.
Hiring Greg costs between 40 and 50 diamonds depending on how many axes and saws. Greg needs axes that cost 4 diamonds each and saws which cost 5 each and Greg gives you a 50% discount of the total price.
This offer lasts for 1 hour.

- Greg is the only NPC to have a farm.
- Greg's fishing lake cannot be visited.
- Greg stays at experience level 151.
- Before the update of 24 June 2019, Greg stayed at experience level 100. After the update his level changed to 151.
- Greg wears a red scarf during Winter.
- Greg is the only character from the original Hay Day to be featured in the game Squad Busters (Not including Mavis, who's from the now discontinued game, Hay Day Pop).
