Hi I got the notification asking if anyone wanted to join and become bureaucrat and I’d be very interested in joining in. I’m happy to learn and do my best when it comes to being active and doing what I can to keep the Wiki up to scratch. Was just wondering if the offer was still available :)
To summarize, your priority as an admin (or bureaucrat really) is to make sure there is no spam or that nothing is broken, encourage new editors, give abilities to trustworthy ones, settle disputes, draft community guidelines, etc. Basically keeping the wiki in good shape so to speak so you have to be able to check in regularly, make sure changes were good ones, and get familiar with some admin pages and tools which can help you. Anything beyond that is up to you. It depends if you can rely on other admins, content moderators, and active editors to keep the wiki up-to-date and as accurate as possible, and, of course, you're willing and able to do this. The Hay Day Team is also willing to liaise with some content creators so that might be another thing to do.
Oh I think there's been a misunderstanding. I posted an announcement on the wiki which is then sent to all editors which have active in the last so many days (I don't remember the number). I believe anyone can step up to the task so I didn't "choose" anyone. I'm very happy you answered :)
Okay, so how will I know if I'm an admin? Am I already an admin? What kind of "abilities"(I forgot the term) do I have as an Admin? Sorry I'm asking so many questions, I'm just not very well informed about the whole "changing into an admin" process.
No problem! I was waiting to hear back from you to give you the position. As of right now, you are a bureaucrat, administrator and moderator of this wiki. Being a bureaucrat means that you have access to all special pages (Special:AdminDashboard), that you can edit all protected pages. It also means you can rename and delete pages and files as well as rollback or undo edits. You also manage user rights so you can give some "powers" to certain users (such as moderating powers, or naming them admin or bureaucrat) and that you can ban spammers from the wiki. The only think you can't do is remove other bureaucrat (that would be me) from their position unless you contact Fandom and explain why it's a good idea (they're inactive for example). I will remove myself when you tell me or I see you don't need me anymore.
While I enjoy editing the Wiki and maintaining my own Hay Day neighborhood website, I really don't have the technical skills needed to expand the Wiki. Thanks for thinking of me and I hope you stay (or find an equally smart and pleasant replacement). :-)
Thank you so much for your kind words! Yeah, I didn't want to assume you'd be willing to take over as it seems to me you're more comfortable popping up when needed :) Hoping we'll find a great person too *crossing fingers*
I was going to enter info on how many mushrooms are needed on a boat, but it's not set up on the Fandom wiki and I don't know how to handle graphics. Could you please set it up and then enter...
Boat orders ask for 46 mushrooms per crate, up to a total of 138 per boat.
I was able to enter the info for the new products because they were already set up and I just needed to replace "?" with a number. Thanks.
SC is calling the smoothie Black Sesame Smoothie. The Fandom page is calling it simply Sesame Smoothie. I think it's better to stick to the SC name, but I don't know enough to edit that page to read Black Sesame Smoothie. Perhaps you could make the necessary changes. It's no big deal but my personal list is alphabetical, so Black Sesame Smoothie appears much earlier than simply Sesame Smoothie. Thanks for reading.
I think they meant that, as a coincidence, at level 157 you have 157 fields, like if you had 40 machines at level 40 or 10 crops at level 10. See what I mean? I'll re-read and clarify if necessary. Thanks for bringing it up!
Hello there! I don't use the HD Wikia for a few reasons:
1.) It looks horrible (Because it's fandom, nothing to do with the creators) And the reasons listed in this Q&A below. This is another game I play that use to be on Fandom and they decided to leave the Wikia.
I'd love to get with supercell and ask them if they would be willing to let you to make another site similar to the new wiki RuneScape has done (which looks beautiful and much better looking and safer than fandom.) The new site could be funded by Supercell and have similar terms or whatever terms both SC and you agree to.
If you don't want to manage the new one if funded by SC then I think the responsibly should fall on volunteers that have rules set in place by SC (similar to the volunteers on Reddit, current wikia, discord, etc). I just believe HD could have a better home with all the information and resources it has but it's being ate away at by ads, videos and just plain junk.
Much cleaner and junk free and just looks all around awesome. I hope we can get something like this for Hay Day soon. As you can see it has the custom link and not fandom included in it. Thank you for your time and everything you do for the current Wikia!
I'm not a fan of the Wikia platform - it runs on a very old engine and is completely unusable without an ad blocker. They have gone in a completely new and better direction since they bought Curse LLC and but improvements aren't going to be implemented soon, which is perfectly understandable. I would love to move to an independent domain. However, this requires buying the domain name, maintaining the domain, etc. all things which 1) are beyond my skills 2)cost money which means donations or something like that and that's again, a whole other job. I'm pretty sure SC doesn't care much about where the wiki is located (other SC wikis wanted to leave as well) but I don't think they would like to be involved more than they already are (which is very little).
Thanks for your kinds words. If you have any ideas/solutions, let me know :)
P.S. I also tried to find a better free Wiki farm but, unfortunately, there aren't really any. Which is why almost everybody uses Wikia... :/
Hey Melicent! Sorry for getting back to you this late. I'm glad to see we are on the same page regarding Fandom's platform. I'm hoping we see changes that are needed and it becomes better. In the meantime the only thing I can suggest is to reach out to other SC Fandom pages and ask the admins there if there's any suggestions they have or if they'd be willing to approach SC with the idea of a fan ran webpage funded by SC. I hope we can come up with something together! Looking forward to speaking to you again.

Isn't there already a independent Hay Day Wiki?
ETA: I found it! It says it uses material from the Hay Day Wiki at the very bottom.
Hi Mel, I am thinking to include roadside shop link and boat link in all the crops and product pages just like I did in animal goods pages. We also need to update boat orders of all the pages. Do you have any idea how we will get updated boat orders for all the products?
Hi David! Sorry for not getting back to you sooner! Had take an impromptu trip to the ER (nothing serious at all, just a sprained foot). I think this is a very good idea. As for boats, this is not the kind of info I can get from Supercell so it's all collected by users, pretty randomly tbh. At the moment, the most up-to-date source is our goods list. If an individual page has different numbers, we take the lowest one and the highest one as correct.
I will change all the trees and bushes pages format. I will also add missing images in trees and bushes pages. If you can obtain those images then lemme know or I will edit images using PhotoShop to remove the background.
Nope, still on vacation but in a different place. Foot is better but I can't walk much and it's too soon for PT. I have a special brace/shoe to limit pain and movement. I'm not on Discord, sorry. I'm really bad with Instant Messaging.
