Decorations are items which players can place on their farms or towns for purely decorative purposes. They have no other function in the game. Decorations are unlocked as the player levels up, and first appear at Level 8.
Buying decorations
Nearly all decorations can be bought from the shop, under its flower icon, for coins, diamonds, or vouchers. Caution must be exercised as no confirmation box will pop up before buying. Moreover, most decorations cost at least 2 coins more after each purchase.
Some special decorations come as prizes when buying diamond packages.
Decorations which have been won through the Wheel of Fortune, derbies, and the catalogue are immediately stored in the shop.
Interacting with decorations
As with most buildings and animal shelters, decorations can be moved, stored, and/or rotated by holding a finger over the item and waiting until the "arrow meter" fills fully. Storing a decoration puts it back in the shop, and additional items of that type cannot be bought while the item is stored.
Unlike other items decorations do no count towards barn storage.
Decorations with particular effects
Some decorations get animated when tapped. Others are always animated (see the tables below).
Bird houses attract birds.
Flowers attract butterflies.
Unlike 'natural' trees, trees bought in the shop sway in the breeze but do not change with seasons.

The star icon(★) denotes animated decorations.
Easter eggs
The Secret Coffin is unlocked at level 27. It can be won by tapping the ghost which occasionally appears in the fishing area during Halloween. This decoration is animated.
The Pearl of the Sea is unlocked at level 30. It can be caught in the fishing lake with a Mystery Net and a hefty dose of luck.
Golden Tree
The Golden Tree is given to all players when they advance to level 100. They receive a package delivered by the mailman and a special thank-you note. The Golden Tree then appears within the decorations menu. Only one tree is available.
